Class 5 visited Edinburgh Castle in April 2015 to perform a play about Mary Queen of Scots and other famous characters of the time. They saw the room where James VI was born( Mary, Queen of Scots’ son). They were able to use props and clothes similar to those used in Mary’s day in the play.
There were two groups in the class and everyone got the opportunity to perform. There were characters like The Roaster, The Cook and Margaret the Fish Seller. They were able to use props and clothes similar to those used in Mary’s day, in the play with support from Historic Scotland.
In April, the plays were performed for schools from all over Scotland who were visiting Edinburgh for Gaidhlig Week. in May, parents were invited to Longmore House where the two groups of Edinburgh Castle Junior Guides presented their plays again. We celebrated their performances with tasty refreshments and the evening was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone.
