Foghlam tro mheadhan na Gàidhlig:
Here at Taobh na Pàirce, we aim to create a Gaelic language environment where children can learn and use their Gaelic across all areas of school life, from pre-school to end of P7.
We use the Total Immersion approach to the end of P3. In this phase children develop reading, writing, talking and listening skils in Gaelic.
From the end of P3, English literacy skills are introduced and our aim is that pupils are equally confident in using Gaelic and English by the time they finish P7.
Currently, pupils transfer to James Gillespie’s High School foor secondary education, where they can study a range of subjects through the medoium of Gaelic.
Our Gaelic Immersion Paper, attached below, was written by a group of staff members and serves as a guide for good practice in delivery of Gaelic medium education.
